Chicago Still & Box Alarm fire 8-11-13

This is a report from Steve Redick:

Today, at 2386 Blue Island Avenue, there was a roof fire at a commercial building. It looks like the roofers were using torches while working on some type of multi-ply roofing system. There was some moderate smoke for a short time, and a lot of roof work going on. According to TL 5, they made around 7 or 8 vent holes in the roof. The building was equipped with sprinklers, and as you can see in the photos, the siamese connection was charged early in the incident. Several handlines were used inside, based on what I could observe. It was an interesting call, and definitely tough on the firefighters involved.
