Gary Fire Department update

Several of the Gary Fire Department's stations have recently received new indicator placards as part of their transition to the Lake County consolidated dispatch system. The numbers assigned are 86 for Headquarters, 87 for Squad 2, 89 for Engine 4, 96 for Engine 11, 97 for Engine 12, and 98 for Engine 13. As of November 7th, the other active stations didn’t have these signs, and I’m not sure if they will be getting them in the future. I’ll post some photos of those later. I'm just a casual observer, not someone with inside knowledge, so I can't say for sure why certain changes were made. That said, I did notice that the Engine 9 you see in the headquarters bay was actually operating as Engine 1 on Saturday (November 7th), just in case anyone was wondering. It was a nice day for taking pictures, so I thought I’d share what I saw. Overall, it was a quiet day—mostly medical calls and no structure fires.
