A few weeks ago, I got a firsthand look at the brand-new MABAS Division 21 HAZMAT Support Unit, known as Decon 321. It's been in service for about a month now and is stationed at Roberts Park Station 2. This unit replaces an older Dodge Ram and brings with it more advanced decontamination equipment and supplies specifically for the technicians. It also has the capability to tow a mobile light tower, which is super useful during night operations or in low-light conditions.

It's always exciting to see how emergency response units continue to evolve and improve. This new support unit seems like a major upgrade that will help keep both responders and the public safer during hazardous material incidents. I was told that the team is already using it for training and drills, and it’s definitely making a difference.
