pH meter correction

1. Turn on the power supply and press the pH key to activate the instrument. Wait for the indicator light to stabilize, and allow the device to warm up for more than 30 minutes to ensure accurate readings. 2. Insert the glass electrode into the corresponding socket and connect the calomel electrode lead to its terminal. Make sure all connections are secure to avoid any electrical interference. 3. Adjust the temperature compensation by rotating the temperature compensator dial to match the actual temperature of the solution being measured. This ensures more accurate pH readings. 4. Perform the zero adjustment by setting the step switch to "6" and turning the zero adjuster until the pointer aligns with the center of the scale at "1". This helps in establishing a stable baseline. 5. Proceed to calibration by switching the step switch to "Correct" and adjusting the correction knob until the pointer reaches the full scale at "2.0". This step is crucial for precise measurements. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as needed until the reading remains stable and consistent, indicating that the instrument is properly calibrated. 7. Place the standard buffer solution in a small beaker, ensuring it is at the same temperature as the one used for calibration. Insert the electrode into the buffer solution, start the magnetic stirrer, and set the step switch to the known pH value of the buffer. Press the reading switch and adjust the positioner so that the pointer stabilizes at the correct pH value. After this, release the reading switch, remove the solution, rinse the electrode thoroughly with distilled water, and gently blot it dry using filter paper. 8. Now, immerse the electrode in the solution you wish to measure. Press the reading switch and adjust the step switch to obtain a stable reading. The final pH value is calculated by adding the value shown on the step switch to the reading indicated by the pointer. This gives you the accurate pH of the tested solution.
