Betten Hydraulic rotary actuators use innovative sliding-spline technology to convert linear piston motion into powerful shaft rotation. Each actuator consists of a housing and two moving parts—the central shaft and the piston. The spline teeth on the shaft engage matching teeth on the inside diameter of the piston. A second set of splines on the piston's outside diameter meshes with the gear on the housing.
