According to the latest forecast of the German Machinery Industry Association, the German machinery manufacturing output will remain stagnant in 2010 after a sharp decline in 2009.
The association said that the output value of Germany's machinery manufacturing industry will drop by 20% in 2009, and the situation in 2010 is not optimistic and may remain at a low level this year. Although the current rate of decline in the output of the machinery manufacturing industry has slowed, it is still unclear whether it has reached the bottom.
Data show that in July this year, the German machinery manufacturing orders fell by 43% compared with the same period last year, of which export and domestic orders decreased by 44% and 41% respectively, and the utilization rate of equipment was only 69.2%. In the first half of this year, except for the increase in orders from China, orders from other major trading partners have decreased to varying degrees.
