Stephen Evans, Secretary-General of the International Rubber Research Organization, said that this year's rubber output is expected to increase to 10.9 million tons, and last year's output was 10.3 million tons. This will reduce the natural rubber supply gap from 400,000 tons to 20-30 million tons. In addition, he said that the shortage of rubber supply will ease, and due to the continuous increase in rubber tapping, natural rubber production is expected to increase by 5.8% this year to 10.9 million tons.
