2. Working Principle When raw materials enter the tank of the magnetic separator, they flow in the same direction as the rotation of the magnetic drum. Iron-rich materials are attracted to the surface of the drum during the first separation. In the second stage, water from below flushes the materials back, creating a reverse flow relative to the drum’s rotation. As the drum continues to rotate, the magnetic materials on its surface eventually leave the magnetic field and fall into the concentrate box under gravity. Water from above assists in flushing these materials into the concentrate box. Non-magnetic or weakly magnetic materials are not attracted and are discharged as tailings. 3.
