Rockdale is added to MABAS Division 15

We've expanded our coverage to include another department within MABAS Division 15: the Rockdale Fire Protection District. Serving a three-square-mile area, this department operates from a single fire station and is equipped with a variety of apparatus. Their fleet includes two engines, a tanker, a squad, a brush truck, and two support vehicles. The newest engine is a custom 2008 Sutphen top-mount pumper, which is supported by a 1994 FMC Omega pumper mounted on a Sentinel chassis. The cab and chassis were built by Spartan, and while it follows the classic Spartan RS style—characterized by its round-steel construction—it features a unique set of trim packages and options tailored specifically for the FMC private label.

This setup not only provided flexibility but also ensured long-term performance and ease of maintenance. As fire departments continue to evolve, these vintage units serve as a reminder of the technological progress made over the years.
