Xu Daquan: The future of Bosch revolves around green security and intelligence

In today's global economic integration, the development of China's auto industry has become an important force supporting the development of the world's auto industry. From the perspective of production and sales volume, China has become a major automobile country. However, China’s automobile industry is large but not strong, and the contribution rate of technological progress and innovation to growth is not high, independent brands lack international competitiveness, self-development capabilities and component R&D capabilities are weak, internal and external structural conflicts are interwoven, and innovation engines are lacking. The situation has not been fundamentally changed.

On October 25th, 2012, many colleagues from the industry gathered at the Beijing “China International Auto Parts Development Summit Forum ” to gather with more than 700 well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad, centering on “Innovation – The Only Way for the Development of Auto Parts ”. The topic is discussed. Xu Daquan, executive vice president of Bosch (China) Investment Co., Ltd., attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech.

At the meeting, Xu Daquan spoke about Bosch Automotive's future around green, safety and intelligence, and talked about Bosch's development in China based on the development trend of the car.

In the past two years, the growth rate of China's autos has been reduced. This year's industry is an increase of 4%, but it is still full of confidence for the development of autos and parts and components companies in China in the next few years. By 2018, even by 2020, China's average growth rate of 8% is no problem. At the same time, there are also several problems. First, it is now growing at a low rate, and then the competition will become stronger. Second, there will be excess capacity. According to statistics, the current capacity of each host plant adds up to nearly 30 million, and it is expected that by 2015 there will be at most 20 million annual output, so this will intensify competition among them, and competition will also be very large for suppliers. Pressure; At the same time, the requirements for innovation and new energy are constantly increasing, which is related to the government's planning.

With regard to clean energy, the government’s “12th Five-Year Plan” is relatively clear. For example, the direction of electric vehicles, the company hopes to have 2 million capacity in 2020, but now the industry has different voices on this development, and whether it can achieve its target by 2020. It also depends on the strength of government policies and the development of various technologies such as batteries. I don’t want to talk about this in more detail, but for fuel economy, such as an average of 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers in 2016, and 5 litres in 2020, the goal is set very clearly. , And believe that the existing technology is fully confident that the internal combustion engine can achieve this goal.

One point, the government has also set a goal for commercial vehicles, “close to the international advanced level”. This is a bit ambiguous. From an implementation point of view, it is hoped that the government can put forward a very clear goal in this regard and then implement it strongly, especially for heavy trucks. The implementation of Euro IV has been speculated on July 1, next year, but there are also voices saying that it will be postponed. However, Bosch has been preparing for many years. The regulations require the implementation to be delayed. The status of spare parts preparation in the industry is It can be implemented completely, so Bosch also called for the government to increase its efforts in this area.

Up to now, the automotive industry possesses gasoline and diesel technology, zero-nuclear fuel, and hybrid power. Especially in the next ten years, hybrid power is also very important to the Chinese market. From the hybrid and battery-driven perspectives, Bosch is also unshakable.

Xu Daquan explained through several specific data. For example, this car is a 1400-kilogram, 2-litre petrol engine. The current fuel consumption standard is 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers. If you use the technology listed on the right, including start-stop, Including VVT, including engine miniaturization and direct injection technology, we can reduce fuel consumption by nearly 29%. If we increase hybrid power, we can continue to reduce by 10%. Ultimately, a 2.0-liter gasoline engine can reach 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers. The goal.

Compared with the petrol cars just discussed, the diesel technology is the same as a diesel car with 7.7 liters of petrol cars. The use of diesel cars can be reduced to 5.4 liters. If turbochargers and more advanced supply systems are used, fuel consumption can be reduced to 3.2 liters. If we add hybrids, it is possible to achieve 2.6 litres of diesel cars in the future. Therefore, we have full confidence that the existing technology has reached the targets set by the government, and many companies have done a lot of work in localization. I don’t believe this from From a technical point of view and from a supplier's point of view, this can be a problem.

This is some simple data about the start-stop system. In fact, Bosch has done more than forty projects in China in the past few years. Hundreds of models have been equipped with start-stops, but unfortunately they have not been measured yet. BMW, this may be because of the cost, but from the fuel consumption point of view, if the actual start-stop system can bring about a maximum reduction of 15% in fuel consumption, if the intelligent control and power generation from the generator The machine efficiency can be further increased by 1 to 3 percentage points. This can reduce fuel consumption from 5% to 18%, so this is a very effective technology for the Chinese market.

In the direction of new energy, Bosch has made most of the things related to new energy electric vehicles localized, or is being localized, including control systems, motor controllers, including batteries for electric vehicles, charging systems, and brakes. System, temperature control system and navigation system, Bosch invests nearly RMB 3.2 billion in R&D every year in the world. It has been going on for several years, and there is no profit within 10 years. But this is a new technology and a new direction. Bosch is here. The greatest efforts are made.

In terms of safety technology, from a global perspective, 1.3 million people are killed each year in traffic accidents. The United Nations has also launched a "ten year road safety" plan. It is understood that security is the next step the Chinese government will vigorously pursue if it talks about ESP. In fact, the advanced countries already have ABS toward ESP. This is a number of market surveys. After the US market survey, with ESP, accident and fatal accident rates have decreased, ranging from 34 to 56%. A bit different, but the effect is very obvious. Similarly, in Europe and Japan, there is also the same data. Bicycle accidents and serious accidents are all reduced by half. This is really related to life. I hope that the industry will be able to put together ESP. The popularity is better.

From the perspective of laws and regulations, China obviously lags behind. Canada and the United States have already become the standard for ESP in 2011. The EU is also implementing this year. This year, Japan has also put ESP into law, Brazil and Argentina, from an economic perspective. We feel that they are the same as us, or that China is already the world's largest automotive producer. Brazil and Argentina have clearly planned to implement ESP in 2014. In China, we only have a C-NCAP security implementation standard plus one point. It is hoped that the government will intensify efforts to popularize the use of ESP and reduce the number of casualties.

From the perspective of ESP production, Bosch first pushed ABS into the market in 1978. By 2012, Bosch had provided 75 million ESPs worldwide and supplied 200 million ABSs. In China, Bosch also reached in 2010. There are 5 million ABSs, 1.2 million ESPs in 2010, and the output has been increasing year by year. This figure will be even higher this year. In this respect, according to Grob, the progress is very fast. I hope that China will This is further popularized.

There are several directions of smart technology, path planning, vehicle communication, and driver assistance. This is our dynamic navigation. The technology to determine the best path from point A to point B can be reduced by selecting different paths in the scope of our test. Fuel consumption, this technology is now under development and hopes to be promoted in China in the future. [next]

In addition to vehicle communication, leisure entertainment, cloud security and diagnostics, Bosch also invested a lot in this area.

Driver assistance systems, in fact, are very relevant to safety. For example, to prevent rear-end accidents, there are a lot of rear-end accidents in China. As we all know, in the eight days of the National Day, there were 22,000 accidents in the country, 80% of which were rear-end technologies. However, in fact, Bosch already has technology to prevent rear-end accidents, as well as road change assistance systems, lane assistance systems, and so on. It does not hesitate to talk about all aspects, and every driver’s safety, fuel consumption options, and vehicle-to-vehicle communications. Many technologies are under development, and many have reached the stage where they can be implemented.

Regarding the auxiliary system, we conducted a survey of Chinese customers. Among the 1,200 respondents, 14% felt very good, 60% felt good, and felt very bad, the proportion is very small, that is, at least 74%. The Chinese understand this auxiliary system and think it is good. Therefore, from the perspective of parts and components development, this is definitely an important direction for the next few years.

This is the development of Bosch's functions and products related to driver assistance systems. Some of them are based on video systems and some are based on radar systems. However, among these, we focus on the emergency braking of automobiles and will automatically help you brake before danger occurs. The recognition ensures that the driver can make early judgments about people and surrounding dynamic objects. In this regard, we have conducted research and development in China and developed products that meet the Chinese market for the needs of the Chinese market.

Bosch's local cooperation:

The diesel supply system in Wuxi is actually a joint venture with Weifu Hi-Tech (cooperation), and it will immediately invest 1.6 billion to build a second production base in Qingdao. In recent years, Bosch has invested hundreds of millions in the supply system in China. It is hoped that China's diesel, especially the heavy truck system, will implement Euro IV early.

Bosch’s United Electronics is also a company that cooperates with Zoomlion. It is also Bosch’s main supplier of EFI systems. It has done very well in China in recent years, and Bosch has put hybrid and electric vehicles on joint electronics. .

This is the cooperation of the past few years: In 2009, Bosch and Beijing Automotive carried out cooperation on the CVT gearbox. This year, Bosch established Atech Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Beidou Company. Today is the opening ceremony of Bosch Changchun Co., Ltd. A policy has been followed, and there is closer cooperation with local companies. There are two points. One is that Bosch brings in advanced technology from abroad, and the second is to learn together with local companies to jointly develop products that meet the needs of the local market.

In terms of local talent, Bosch now has 30,000 employees in China and plans to grow to 50,000 by 2015. This includes management positions in China. It is hoped that at least 80% of senior management positions will be Chinese by 2015. The number of people is decreasing. At the same time, Bosch hopes to reach 90% in 2015, cultivate Chinese people and increase its role in the company's decision-making perspective. This is a very clear goal of Bosch development.

In 2012, Bosch was named China's outstanding employer certification, which is also a good encouragement for Bosch.
