Hankook presents new green inflatable tires

Green, low-carbon, and safety have been the two major product concepts that Hankook Tire has followed. Recently, Hankook Tire Co., Ltd. has also introduced a non-pneumatic tire developed for electric vehicles.

To meet the requirements of future-oriented green concept vehicles such as electric, hydrogen, and hybrid vehicles, Hankook Tire has been committed to the development of environmentally-friendly tires that meet the requirements. Recently, Hankook Tire and related departments adopted the manufacturing technology to develop environmentally friendly tires using pure materials. "The project has developed a non-pneumatic tire for electric vehicles that Hyundai and the Kia Group are currently developing.

The airless tires disclosed at the exhibition not only solved the burden on the driver to confirm the tire pressure at any time, but also avoided traffic accidents caused by insufficient air pressure during driving. The reduction of the tire manufacturing process from the original 8 stages to 4 stages is conducive to saving energy and reducing the emission of harmful substances. Simultaneously, the raw material singulation can also facilitate collection and reuse in the future.

The head of Hankook Tire Materials stated that the development of new concept tire manufacturing technology in cooperation with a number of companies is conducive to better demonstrating the company's environmental protection technology. In the future, the company will continue to develop cutting-edge environmental performance in line with market demand. Tire technology continues to strengthen its competitiveness.

Hankook Tire Korea launched the Non-Inflatable Tyre (NPT) at the “2012 Knowledge Economy R&D Exhibition” organized by COEX from June 28th to June 30th.
