School and enterprise jointly developed the first heavy-duty hybrid machine tool in China

With the support of the National 863 Program, Tsinghua University and Qiqihar Second Machine Tool (Group) Co., Ltd. jointly developed the first heavy-duty hybrid machine tool XNZH2430 in China. The machine tool has the research results and core technology of completely independent intellectual property rights, and it is a breakthrough in the development of “high, fine and sharp” major numerical control equipment in China.

According to reports, the successful development of the machine tool has filled the gap in the development of heavy-duty hybrid machine tools in China, and has great theoretical and practical value for improving the design and manufacturing capabilities of China's new structural heavy-duty CNC equipment.

It is understood that XNZH2430 heavy-duty hybrid machine tool is the key basic equipment demand for China's manufacturing industry, focusing on the processing of complex curved surface parts such as large turbine blades and propeller blades with high technical content and complicated process. From software development to hardware manufacturing, the machine can not only meet the surface machining of the above parts, but also be used for 3D space surface machining of large key precision parts in the military, aerospace, marine, power generation equipment and mold manufacturing industries.

Parallel machine tools (also known as virtual axis machine tools) are a new type of structural machine tool that emerged in the late 1990s. It is called the 21st century new processing equipment. It overcomes the inherent defects of the traditional tandem machine tool structure, under the same scale. The utility model has the advantages of high modularity, good rigidity, light weight of moving parts, large acceleration, easy adjustment of machining precision, high processing precision, and the like, and can realize multi-coordinate linkage numerical control processing. The hybrid machine tool combines the advantages of the parallel machine tool and the tandem machine tool. With the above advantages of the parallel machine tool, it has the characteristics of large working space of the tandem machine tool, which enables the hybrid machine tool to be continuously applied in the manufacturing industry.

The advanced manufacturing equipment laboratory of the Precision Instrument Manufacturing Institute of Tsinghua University has achieved remarkable results in the development of parallel machine tools in China. It has obtained dozens of invention patents and scientific research achievements, and accumulated rich experience in the design of new structural machine tools. In the initial stage of international parallel machine tool research in the 1990s, the laboratory independently developed China's first STEWART parallel machine tool VAMT1Y, and then cooperated with Qi Er machine tools and other units to successfully develop XNZD2415, XNZD755 and other units. (mixed) joint machine tools and achieve practical applications in production.

The XNZH2430 heavy-duty hybrid machine has a large working space and functions such as interchangeable head, shiftable and automatic recognition and control system for the milling head, and has good operating performance. The main part of the machine tool consists of a two-degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism plus a moving table. The parallel mechanism consisting of two columns and a swing arm can drive the headstock to achieve Y/Z movement in both directions. The table can realize X-direction movement, X The maximum processing space for the Y, Z and Z3 moving directions is: 8000mm × 3000mm × 2500mm. The remaining machining freedom of the machine tool is completed by the milling head installed under the headstock. There are three interchangeable milling heads: A/C axis swing angle milling head, vertical milling head and right angle milling head. When using the A/C axis swing angle milling head, the degree of freedom of machining in two directions of rotation can be increased, and the range of corner machining can be realized: A-axis swing angle ±95°, C-axis rotation angle ±185°, at this time the machine tool can realize Five-axis linkage can complete the complex surface machining of the above full-size space. When the vertical milling head and the right angle milling head are replaced, all the functions of the ordinary CNC milling machine can be completed, and the utility model has good versatility. In addition, the spindle box of the machine tool has two low and high speed gears, which can automatically shift gears according to the processing needs. The spindle box is connected to the swing arm, spindle motor and milling head of the parallel mechanism at the same time. The clever design can ensure the spindle transmission while the box moves at high speed. Smooth drive of the chain.

It is reported that the control system of the machine tool is the VACS6 machine tool control system independently developed by Tsinghua University. The development of this system is based on the linux platform and has high real-time performance, which can meet the real-time control requirements of six axes during fast cutting. The VACS6 control system also automatically loads the corresponding control module based on the identified current milling head information and logs into the relevant operating interface, greatly simplifying the operating procedure. In order to ensure the high precision of the machining, the control system can easily modify the machine structure parameters used in the control algorithm after the calibration of the machine tool is completed, and compensate the current error.
