According to Voice of China's “National News Network†report, after demonstration and promotion of pilot projects, China’s new energy vehicles currently account for nearly 30,000 vehicles. The Ministry of Science and Technology indicated that the next step is to promote hybrid-powered buses to all cities in the country.
Zhao Yuhai, Director of the High-tech Division of the Ministry of Science and Technology, introduced that China’s new energy vehicles have not only passed the 10,000 mark, but also the supporting facilities have been strengthened.
Zhao Yuhai: 25 pilot cities have demonstrated and promoted 27,400 energy-saving models, including 23,000 in public services and 44 million private cars. 174 charging and switching stations were built, and 8,107 charging stations were built. When the financial subsidy is cleared, we expect that the scale of demonstration and promotion will reach the size of 39,700 vehicles and nearly 40,000 vehicles.
The demonstration and promotion work has given birth to a batch of hybrid bus products with significant energy-saving and emission-reduction effects. Its fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is only half that of existing fuel vehicles. Zhao Yuhai said that the Ministry of Science and Technology will select a group of excellent hybrid bus passenger cars and promote them to all cities in the country.
Zhao Yuhai: Like the operation of our advanced hybrid buses, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is less than 24 liters, which is half that of the existing fuel vehicles. So now we have promoted the hybrid to all cities, and the promotion target is 3,000 to 5,000 vehicles.
