Last night, the Pink Heals Tour made a stop in Downers Grove, drawing attention from local residents and fire truck enthusiasts. Bill Friedrich was there to capture the moment, snapping photos of the iconic pink fire trucks that rolled into town. These vehicles are more than just eye-catching—they're part of a powerful movement supporting breast cancer awareness and research.
One of the standout units was "Anne Marie," a Thomas-Built bus that turned heads with its vibrant pink paint job. Another notable vehicle was "Karen," a 1989 Spartan/FMC 1500/500 from the Capitol Heights VFD in Maryland. The tour also featured "Tonya," a 1988 E-One Hush from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and "Leslie," a 1991 E-One Hush from Tyler, Texas.
A special highlight was the Pink Heals Ribbon, which was proudly displayed as part of the event. Karen even took on the role of a tow truck, pulling the Pink Heals trailer through the streets. These photos not only showcase the beauty of the fire trucks but also the spirit of the cause they represent. Bill Friedrich's work gives us a glimpse into a memorable evening where community and purpose came together.
