In October 2005, Shiyan Hi-tech Zone represented the city at the 58th National Auto Parts Trade Fair held at the New International Convention and Exhibition Center in Chengdu. The event took place from October 15 to 17 and was jointly organized by several key industry associations and the Chengdu municipal government. Mayor Chen Tianhui personally attended the opening ceremony, underscoring the importance of this platform for promoting Shiyan’s auto parts industry. Chengdu, known as a major hub for automotive manufacturing, provided an ideal stage for the fair. Over 1,800 companies participated, covering more than 80,000 square meters with over 2,300 booths. The event attracted thousands of industry professionals, offering a valuable opportunity for networking and showcasing innovations. Shiyan Hi-tech Zone organized the “Shiyan Auto Parts Exhibition Group” and secured 40 standard booths and 2 special exhibitions at the main hall. More than 48 companies, including leading manufacturers like Shiyan Precision Manufacturing and Dongfeng (Shiyan) Automotive Oil Products, participated. Over 500 people were involved, and more than 10,000 copies of the “Shiyan Auto Parts Business Guide” were distributed to boost brand awareness and market share. The pavilion highlighted three key aspects: promoting the “Checheng” brand, showcasing Shiyan as the “Commercial Vehicle Capital,” and emphasizing the city’s role as a national base for auto parts. With a large market presence and strong sales performance, the event significantly enhanced Shiyan’s reputation in the industry. Exhibitors collected over 10,000 customer leads, exchanged more than 20,000 business cards, and received over 100,000 inquiries. Nearly 1,000 merchants reached intent agreements totaling nearly 80 million yuan, while 30 contracts worth 60 million yuan were signed on-site. The fair generated a potential trade volume exceeding 300 million yuan, demonstrating its success in both economic and social terms. The Shiyan Pavilion was praised for its professional design, organization, and branding. Leaders from the China All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, including Wang Yuyang and Li Anping, visited the pavilion and commended its efforts. This exposure helped solidify Shiyan’s position as a key player in China’s auto parts sector. Through this participation, Shiyan further established itself as a leading producer of heavy truck components, reinforcing its role in the national automotive industry. The fair not only boosted local economic benefits but also strengthened the city’s image as a dynamic and innovative industrial hub.
