Bolingbrook Fire Department patch

The Bolingbrook Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 16, has recently been added to the site. The department operates from five fire stations, each housing a suppression company. Only Station 5 does not have a medic unit, but that will change soon. Station 1’s suppression team is a jump company, and they use either an engine or a ladder truck depending on the call. A new engine is currently being ordered for Station 5, and a new medic unit is expected to be operational before the end of the year.

The department's suppression apparatus includes a mix of brands such as Precision Fire Apparatus (based in Camdenton, MO), Ferrara, Grumman, and Seagrave. Medic units are built by Road Rescue, Wheeled Coach, Life Line, and Osage. These vehicles play a critical role in emergency medical services across the community.

Some notable equipment missing from the current images include a 1992 Seagrave reserve engine at Station 4, as well as two large trailers. One trailer at Station 4 carries a Gator AWD unit, while another at Station 5 houses technical rescue gear, essential for specialized operations.

The medic unit stationed at Station 1 was previously owned by Air Angels, Inc., a company that operated ground and air medical transport. Unfortunately, Air Angels went out of business in February 2009. In 2008, the company was involved in a tragic helicopter crash, marking a difficult chapter in its history.

Overall, the Bolingbrook Fire Department continues to evolve, adapting to new challenges while maintaining a strong commitment to public safety. With ongoing upgrades and modernization efforts, the department remains a vital part of the community.
