CFD Chili Cook Off
WHAT: Get ready for a fiery feast at the Old Style and Mo Dailey’s Chili Cook-Off! This exciting event is brought to you in partnership with the Chicago Fire Department’s Northside Fire Brigade and the Gaelic Fire Brigade. It will take place at Mo Dailey’s Pub and Grille on Sunday, November 2nd.
Local firefighters and passionate chili lovers from all over Chicago will come together to showcase their best chili recipes. The crowd favorite will be decided by a panel of expert judges, who will taste and rate each entry. This year’s judging panel includes Mark Konkol from DNA Info, Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza, Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago, and Deputy Chief Mark Nielson from the Chicago Fire Department. Adding some star power, celebrity judges David Eigenberg, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov from NBC’s hit show *Chicago Fire* will also be on hand to pick the winner.
In addition to the delicious competition, this event celebrates the Old Style Chicago Heroes Can, a special edition can created by Old Style to honor the courage and sacrifice of Chicago’s bravest. A portion of the proceeds from every can sold in Chicagoland goes toward the Ende, Menzer, Walsh, and Quinn (EMWQ) Retirees’, Widows’ and Children’s Assistance Fund. This local organization provides vital financial support to the families of fallen firefighters. During the event, Mo Dailey’s will also donate $10 from every ticket sold to the EMWQ fund.
Tickets for the Chili Cook-Off are just $40 and include access to a wide variety of chili samples, beer, wine, and drinks, as well as an outdoor BBQ menu. There will also be live music from a DJ and a raffle with great prizes, including exclusive Old Style memorabilia. Tickets can be purchased at the door, so don’t miss out on this fun-filled day of food, community, and celebration.
