CFD Chili Cook Off
WHAT: Get ready for a fiery celebration at the Old Style and Mo Dailey’s Chili Cook-Off! This exciting event is brought to you in partnership with the Chicago Fire Department’s Northside Fire Brigade and the Gaelic Fire Brigade. It will take place at Mo Dailey’s Pub and Grille on Sunday, November 2nd.
Firefighters from the Chicago Fire Department and local chili enthusiasts will come together to showcase their best chili recipes. The crowd favorite will be crowned champion by a panel of expert judges. This year’s judging lineup includes Mark Konkol from DNA Info, Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza, Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago, and Deputy Chief Mark Nielson from the Chicago Fire Department. Adding some star power, celebrity judges David Eigenberg, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov from NBC’s hit show *Chicago Fire* will also be on hand to evaluate the entries.
In addition to the competition, this event honors the legacy of Chicago’s bravest through the Old Style Chicago Heroes Can. These special commemorative cans, created by Old Style, celebrate the courage and sacrifice of firefighters. Proceeds from the sale of these cans throughout Chicagoland support the Ende, Menzer, Walsh, and Quinn (EMWQ) Retirees’, Widows’ and Children’s Assistance Fund. This vital organization provides financial aid to the most vulnerable widows and children of Chicago Fire Department members. Mo Dailey’s will also contribute $10 from every ticket sold to the EMWQ fund during the event.
Tickets are available for $40 and include access to a wide variety of chili samples, beer, wine, and drink rails, plus outdoor BBQ fare. There will also be a live DJ to keep the energy high and raffle tickets for a chance to win fun prizes like Old Style memorabilia. Tickets can be purchased at the door, so don’t miss your chance to join the fun!
