The Glenview Fire Department received a call from a local resident reporting that a house at 1531 Maple Street was on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the attic and upgraded the alarm to a Code 4, indicating a working fire. At the scene, the department deployed four engine companies, two ambulances, a ladder truck, and three chief officers. Additional support came from Northfield with an engine, Niles with a truck, Morton Grove with a squad, and the Northbrook battalion chief.
The ladder truck was assigned to ventilate the roof, while two lines were stretched from Engine 8 to tackle the flames. The fire was fully under control within 15 minutes of the alarm being upgraded, and the damage to the home remained relatively minimal. Below are several photos captured by Larry Shapiro.
