From January to November, the export of commercial vehicles showed "high-speed" growth

From January to November 2007, China's domestic vehicle exports reached a cumulative total of 533,300 units, reflecting a significant 71.78% increase compared to the same period in 2006, which stood at 31,160 units. The trade volume for these exports amounted to $6.329 billion, representing a remarkable 125.7% growth over the $2.804 billion recorded in the previous year. Among these, commercial vehicle exports totaled 307,300 units, showing a 39.7% rise from the 22.0 million units exported during the same period in 2006. The trade value for commercial vehicles reached $4.522 billion, up by 110.6% from $2.147 billion in 2006. China’s auto exports were primarily directed to key markets such as Russia, the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa. Russia emerged as the largest single market for Chinese automobile exports, both in terms of volume and trade value. Commercial vehicle exports were mainly concentrated in Syria, Russia, South Africa, Vietnam, and Iran, with the top five export destinations being Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and Algeria. In 2007, the implementation of three new policies aimed at regulating and standardizing the auto export sector helped maintain order and ensure sustainable growth. The number of domestic auto export companies had risen to 1,025 in 2005 and 1,175 in 2006, but only 204 companies managed to export. By 2007, this number dropped significantly to just 600 registered exporters. The introduction of the "New Deal" also enhanced the profitability of domestic auto exports. From January to November 2006, the average export price per unit was around $12,024.45, an increase of 33.65% from the previous year’s average of $8,991.00. For passenger cars, the average price rose to approximately $14,715.07, marking a 50.77% increase from $9,762.40 in the same period the year before. In the commercial vehicle export market from January to November 2007, passenger cars accounted for 38,000 units, while special-purpose vehicles reached 11,300 units. Chassis exports totaled 16,100 units. The majority of commercial vehicle exports—244,200 units—were ordinary trucks, making up 78.74% of the total 307,700 commercial vehicles exported. This indicates a growing trend in truck exports. Tractors saw a sharp increase in exports, with 13,689 units shipped between January and November, surpassing the 2006 total of 6,575 by 208.2%. The trade value reached $463 million, which was 349.2% of the full-year 2006 figure of $343.3 million. The average price per tractor was approximately $33,818.36, up 67.7% from the 2006 average of $4.66 million. Ordinary trucks continued to dominate the market, with 217,500 units exported between January and November, reaching 140% of the 2006 total of 155,400 units. The trade volume hit $1.952 billion, 160.86% of the 2006 total of $99.90 billion. Trucks under 5 tons remained highly competitive, accounting for 171,100 units, or 78.68% of the total. Meanwhile, heavy trucks over 20 tons saw a surge, with 20,200 units exported—an increase of 310.5% compared to the same period in 2006, and a trade value of $746 million, up 364.9% from $161 million. Dump trucks also experienced strong growth, with 10,720 units exported between January and November, a 139.7% increase from the 7,673 units in 2006. The trade volume reached $355 million, 184% of the 2006 total of $192 million. Automobile chassis exports totaled 16,100 units, generating $87.036 million in trade. These chassis were primarily used for trucks with a gross weight of 14 tons and for specialized vehicles like buses and other heavy equipment. Special-purpose vehicles, despite a significant increase in export volume—11,270 units, a 278.75% rise from 4,043 units in 2006—still faced challenges in terms of market acceptance. The trade volume for these vehicles reached $677 million, 260.78% of the 2006 total of $3.32 billion. Cranes, cement mixers, and non-aviation power cars with capacities up to 50 tons were among the most exported special-purpose vehicles.
