Fujitsu Introduces 4th Generation Small Car Relays to Reduce Size by Nearly 30%

Fujitsu Components America has introduced its latest innovation in automotive relays: the FTR-G1, a fourth-generation ultra-small relay designed specifically for electric motor applications. This new model is 28% smaller than its predecessor, the FTR-P3, and features a two-piece combination manufacturing process that helps lower production costs without compromising performance. According to the company, the FTR-G1 is a PCB-mounted, single-pole, single-throw (SPST) relay with a form C configuration, capable of handling up to 25A at 14Vdc. It’s ideal for high surge applications such as electric door and window controls, automatic doors, power locks, adjustable seats, and intermittent windshield wipers. Since the relay is integrated into the module, it ensures noise levels remain below 60dB, making it suitable for quiet environments. The compact dimensions of the FTR-G1 are 13.7 x 6.6 x 13.5 mm, and its unique pin layout allows for a more space-efficient design while maintaining sufficient insulation for a simplified PCB layout. The relay consumes only 640mW of coil power and is fully compliant with RoHS standards, ensuring environmental responsibility. For bulk orders of 10,000 units or more, the FTR-G1 is priced at $1.80 per unit. This makes it a cost-effective and reliable choice for automotive manufacturers looking to enhance performance while reducing size and complexity in their systems. With its advanced design and competitive pricing, the FTR-G1 is set to become a key component in next-generation vehicle electronics.
