Fujitsu Introduces 4th Generation Small Car Relays to Reduce Size by Nearly 30%

Fujitsu Components America has introduced its latest innovation in automotive relays: the FTR-G1, a fourth-generation ultra-small relay designed for electric motor applications. Compared to its predecessor, the FTR-P3, the FTR-G1 is 28% smaller, making it an ideal choice for space-constrained designs. Additionally, the use of a two-piece combination process not only enhances manufacturing efficiency but also helps lower overall product costs. According to recent reports, the FTR-G1 is a PCB-mounted, single-pole double-throw (SPDT) relay capable of handling up to 25A at 14Vdc. It's well-suited for high surge applications such as electric door and window controls, automatic doors, power locks, adjustable seats, and intermittent wipers. Since the relay is integrated directly into the module, it ensures noise levels remain below 60dB, contributing to a quieter and more reliable system. The compact dimensions of the FTR-G1 are 13.7 x 6.6 x 13.5 mm. Its innovative pin layout allows for reduced size without compromising insulation performance, which simplifies the PCB design and improves reliability. The relay consumes only 640mW of coil power and is fully compliant with RoHS standards, ensuring environmental responsibility. For bulk orders of 10,000 units or more, the FTR-G1 is available at a price of $1.80 per unit. This makes it a cost-effective and high-performance solution for automotive manufacturers looking to enhance their electrical systems while maintaining efficiency and space optimization. With its advanced design and competitive pricing, the FTR-G1 is set to become a key component in next-generation vehicle electronics.
