On January 21st, during the "3rd Hitachi Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Technology Exchange Conference," jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission's Small and Medium Enterprises External Cooperation Exchange Center and Hitachi, a significant partnership was announced. Hitachi and Yuntianhua Group signed a letter of intent for a motor frequency conversion retrofit project. Additionally, Hitachi entered into a cooperation agreement with the Hejin project in Shanxi Province for the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas.
This collaboration between Hitachi and Yuntianhua is one of the "China-Japan Energy-Saving and Environmental Business Promotion Demonstration Projects" supported by both governments. Under the agreement, Hitachi will supply inverter equipment for high-voltage motors to Yuntianhua Group. Once implemented, the new system is expected to reduce the company’s annual energy consumption by over 20%. Hitachi emphasized that the project's energy-saving and emission-reduction effects will be closely monitored and evaluated after completion.
The Hejin project, part of the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas in Shanxi Province, is an environmental protection power generation initiative. The first phase aims to process 684 million cubic meters of coke oven gas annually, while the second phase targets an additional 156 million cubic meters. The project is expected to begin grid-connected power generation in 2009. Hitachi will provide three H-25 gas turbine generator sets to support this endeavor.
These two projects are part of Hitachi’s “Environmental Vision 2025†initiative in China, aimed at promoting energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. To further strengthen collaboration between China and Japan in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, Hitachi plans to hold annual technology exchange conferences, fostering deeper communication and technological cooperation between the two nations.
