In response, Dreschler, CEO of BRV, the German Tyre Trade Association, said: “In general, we will assume this, but we also believe that in the short term, this will not affect the European market.â€
Dreschler explained that the EU and the United States have completely different automotive markets. Therefore, the tire size and other requirements are also different.
"However, we expect that in the future, Chinese tire manufacturers will increase the production of tires required by the European Union." He stressed that by then, Chinese tires will affect the normal operation of the EU market.
As to whether the EU will follow the United States to impose high tariffs on Chinese tires, the head of BRV said: "It is not yet known whether the EU will adopt similar measures to cope with competition from China."
